Carlton Vale
This building replaced a former Texaco Petrol Station on Carlton Vale, London. It is located on Peel Precinct and it is one of the first schemes to be constructed in the regeneration of The South Kilburn Estate.
The Scheme
The scheme provides 50 rented and shared ownership units over seven floors of accommodation with an underground car park and communal gardens.
The elevation to Carlton Vale is envisaged as a projecting zinc box enclosing the recessed balconies that front onto the road and the public park beyond. This portion of the elevation is designed with vertical timber brise soleil and coloured glass to the balconies while the rest of the building is a simple stock brick.
