In relocating to a new campus in the North of Belfast The University of Ulster has created a huge demand for student accommodation in the city. This is the first of several schemes to be granted planning permission and the first new-build block to start on-site. It lies directly opposite the University Campus buildings and will provide 720 en-suite bedrooms and associated communal facilities over 14 storeys. The scheme was designed by LIKE Architects in 2015 and Hester Architects were appointed in 2016 to produce working drawings and monitor the works on site. The building will open in 2019.
